How Consignment @ Botanica works
Thank you for choosing us to help sell your gently loved fashion items and coming alongside our mission to recycle clothing to make the selling process simple and convenient while giving your items a second life.
Consignment is a way for you to sell your items through our store without having to find a buyer yourself. We display, market, and sell the item on your behalf. When the item sells, we keep an agreed-upon commission and pay you the remainder.

Item Requirements for consignment
✔ Clean
✔ Free from stains, odors, pet hair, excessive wear, and damage
✔ In current, wearable condition
✔ Seasonally appropriate when possible
✔ Authentic (designer items must be genuine)
We reserve the right to decline items that do not meet our quality standards.

We welcome all sizes. We believe great style comes in every size and strive to offer options for all customers.
Consignment Limits
To ensure we can properly process and display inventory, we accept:
Maximum of 30 items per consignment appointment/drop-off.
Items beyond the 30-piece limit may be declined or scheduled for a future intake date.
Brand Guidelines
While we consider many brands, we are especially interested in brands that consistently perform well with our customers. Brand preferences may change based on customer demand and seasonality.

Pricing & Commission Split
All pricing decisions are made to maximize the likelihood of a successful sale.
We will determine pricing based on:

Current resale market value
The consignor payment is based on the final selling price of the item, Items will be discounted at 30 days. When your item sells: Store receives 60% & Consignor receives 40%
Ownership of Your Items
You remain the owner of your items until they are sold.
Once an item is sold, ownership transfers to the buyer
Unsold Items
Your items will remain in consignment for a 60 days period unless terminated earlier in accordance with this Agreement.
At the end of the consignment period, unsold items must be picked up within 7 days of notification.
Items not retrieved within the pickup period become property of Botanica Modern Market and may be donated, disposed of, or otherwise handled according to our store policy.

Step 1: Bring Us Your Items - We inspect items to determine whether they meet our quality standards.
Step 2: We establish a fair market price based on:

Step 3: We Display and Market the Items

Display it in our store

Promote it through social media

Include it in special sales or promotions
Step 4: The Item Sells

We collect payment from the buyer. Our commission is deducted. You receive your agreed upon share.
What Happens if My Item Doesn't Sell?
At the end of the consignment period, you may:

Pick up your item,

Renew the consignment period,

Allow price reductions,
-
Authorize donation or disposal.
Please retrieve unsold items promptly when notified.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I still own my item?
Yes. You remain the owner until the item sells.
Can I take my item back?
After your consignment term ends yes you may opt to pick your items back up for a small $10 fee. subject to any terms in your consignment agreement.
What if the item is discounted?
Your payment is generally based on the final selling price. Any discount policies will be explained in your agreement.
What happens if my item is lost or damaged?
Our policies regarding responsibility and insurance are outlined in the Consignment Agreement.
Can I get Store Credit for my items sold?
ABSOLUTELY!
